14 Mar Sonja Šarić in the role of Aida
The Serbian National Theatre opened the 161st season with a performance of Verdi’s famous opera Aida, in which Sonja Šarić interpreted the title role.
Immediately before the opening night, Sonja told RTS (National television in Serbia): “This is a very big challenge for me and I am, in addition to singing Aida for the first time, performing for the first time in Novi Sad and in a Serbian opera production in general, however I have often worked abroad. I am delighted to be singing at home.” Then she added that the role of Aida is very demanding, but she enjoys it.
Let us remind you, the premiere of this extraordinary production, which has almost 400 participants, took place under the open sky, at the Petrovaradin Fortress on 15 September.
