Sonja Šarić, a soprano form Serbia, won the 4th Marton Éva International Singing Competition in Budapest, organized by the local Academy of Music, where she was deemed the best by both the expert jury and the audience.

After the competition, Sonja gave a statement about the atmosphere in Budapest and about this unique experience: “I am very happy, it was a wonderful week filled with various emotions, and each stage of the competition was very exciting. The short period after the semifinals, when I found out that I got through to final stage of the competition and that I would be singing with the orchestra, was filled with wonderful anticipation. I can say that working with the orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera was a fantastic experience. “
